This early menorah design was particularly notable for its unusual use of architectural features. The top layer of glass features primarily round designs while the bottom provides contrasting angular designs. The top layer is also slightly smaller and offset to create asymmetry and add interest. Lisa innovated this type of double-layer design, with a view that families could use the menorah at the center of their Chanukah dinner tables. This design was so early in Lisa’s artistic career that she had not yet developed a reliable source for menorah candle cups, so these cups were recovered and repurposed from a commercial menorah. This menorah was a sentimental favorite of Lisa’s and so is featured on the heading of the Glass-Angel Amazon Handmade store.
